Ethel Spowers (1890–1947) was an Australian artist known for her linocut prints, a technique where the artist carves her artwork into a sheet of linoleum which is used to make prints. In her print Wet afternoon, Spowers uses the the soft, stamp-like quality of the linocut process to evoke the hazy feel of a rainy day. Pepperholm’s art print is a reproduction of the original linocut print.
