This playfully surreal woodblock print was made in 1893 by Japanese artist Watanabe Shōtei (1851–1918). The woodblock method creates a rich texture in the inking – take a closer look at the pink sky itself – which gives the print a pleasant organic feel. Our giclée reproduction of this artwork is printed with archival inks.
