This print of Mount Fuji by Kamisaka Sekka (1866–1942) is from Momoyogusa (Flowers of a Hundred Worlds), a book of woodblock prints published in 1909 by the Unsōdō publishing house in Kyoto. The book is a beautiful collection of poetry and art in the Japanese ehon tradition which Kamisaka helped to modernize. Sent to study in Glasgow in 1901, Kamisaka was captivated by Art Nouveau and upon returning to Japan sought to incorporate European techniques in traditional Japanese designs. The result is bold, graphic and modern. Our giclée reproduction of this artwork is printed with archival inks.
